Founding Member
Adonna McFarland is a 2013 graduate of the New York City Leadership Academy. Ms. McFarland has been an educator in the New York City Public School system for 25 years. She started her career teaching kindergarten in the Ithaca City School District before moving back to her hometown of Brooklyn where she has serviced the highest need students in several capacities. She taught elementary and middle school mathematics for a total of nine years in Bedford Stuyvesant and Flatbush. Ms. McFarland has served as an assistant principal for 12 years at P.S. 309 in Bedford Stuyvesant and Walt Whitman Middle School in Flatbush.
Ms. McFarland graduated from Brooklyn College with a Certificate of Study in Supervision and Administration. She has a M.S.E. in Education and a B.S. in Education from the State University of New York at Cortland.

Kojo Campbell has committed his entire 19 year career in the Department of Education to helping middle school students develop academically and socially. After graduating from SUNY at Stony Brook with a B.A. in Economics, he was a director at an education center for a year before deciding to teach full time. In addition to being certified in Mathematics (Grades 7-12), he has a M.S. in Elementary Education, Special Education, and School Administration and Supervision.
During his years in the DOE, he has taught all three middle school grades, coordinated school-wide intervention services, served as a lead teacher, fulfilled a role of a math coach, and is currently in his third year as an assistant principal. He wants to use his love and passion for education to challenge the youth in Van Siclen Community Middle School to grow their dreams into a reality.
Founding Member
Kiesha Kemp is an educator with years of experience serving students. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and a Masters of Education, Educational Leadership & Administration from the College of Staten Island and from the College of Saint Rose.
With over 15 years in education, her background includes experience as a classroom teacher in grades 6 through 8 in the Special Education department with concentration in Humanities, English Language Arts and Social Studies. In addition, she has worn several hats during her tenure including Accelerated Program Coordinator, Special Education Coordinator, Mentor to new teachers and Senior Activities Coordinator.
Kiesha Kemp’s career path represents her love and passion for growth and development, both personal and professional.
